Youtube To Broadcast German Supercup

Video sharing giant Youtube is taking yet another big step towards becoming a vital player in the distribution and transmission of sporting events.

On Thursday, they announced that the German Super Cup will be streamed live on the site.

This year’s matchup will pit reigning Bundesliga champs Borussia Dortmund against the DFB Pokal winners Schalke 04. Kickoff is at 2:30pm ET this coming Saturday.

This is the second big football event being shown via YouTube as the Copa America has been shown in its entirety as well. YouTube is also partnered with the Indian Premier League as of last year after Setanta discontinued operations in the UK.
